Ultralight Convertible Wader

Engineered specifically for backcountry hike-in anglers and warm-weather days, this wader focuses on shedding dead weight and bulk without compromising waterproof integrity. The defining design highlight is the FIDLOCK magnetic conversion system, which lets you drop the upper down to waist height smoothly on the move, avoiding the clunky bunched fabric common to standard roll-down suspender setups.

The shell relies on a four-layer waterproof breathable nylon composite tailored in an athletic cut that cuts down on loose, billowing fabric. In the river, mobility is outstanding; scrambling over boulder gardens and high-stepping along steep cutbanks feels natural rather than restrictive. Minimalist gravel guards keep water drag to an absolute minimum, while anatomically sculpted neoprene booties sit comfortably inside boots without bunching across the instep. Pockets are streamlined, featuring an external water-resistant chest stash and an interior tool dock for minimal essentials.

Those packability gains come with honest compromises in long-term abrasion resistance. While the four-layer laminate handles everyday river friction and incidental brush with ease, it does not possess the sheer puncture defense found in heavier guide-tier models like the Orvis PRO. Anglers who routinely bushwhack through thorny thickets or wade sharp riprap every weekend will find its limits eventually. For destination travelers, alpine creek chasers, and summer anglers prioritizing comfort, it balances breathability and packability better than most rivals in its class.
