Trailhead Cot

For vehicle-based campers tired of wrestling with slow-leaking air mattresses or rolling off narrow ground mats, this folding cot provides an immediate upgrade in nightly camp comfort. It is built for car campers, hunt camps, and cabin overnights where elevation and convenience matter far more than ultralight packability. Getting several inches off frozen ground or uneven tent floors fundamentally changes how a weekend outdoors feels, particularly for anyone managing lower back stiffness or creaky knees.

Construction relies on a scissor-action steel X-frame paired with a rugged, tightly tensioned polyester sleeping deck. Deployment takes mere seconds right out of the storage bag—simply pull the frame outward until it expands flat, bypassing the knuckle-busting crossbars and tricky tension levers common on modular camp cots. The sleeping surface delivers firm, uniform support across your torso without mid-back sag, though dedicated side sleepers will still benefit from laying a thin insulated pad on top for shoulder relief and cold-weather thermal protection.

The trade-off for that burly, fuss-free frame is unmistakable bulk and heft. At this weight and packed volume, transit is strictly limited to the cargo hold of your vehicle and the immediate campsite perimeter, and its rigid footprint demands a spacious multi-person tent. Compared to ultralight backpacking cots that cost twice as much and require tedious shock-cord assembly, this unit delivers rock-solid stability and rugged durability at an accessible car-camping price point.
