Alpine Pants

The Black Diamond Alpine Pants are a solid workhorse for climbers and hikers who need reliable protection without excessive bulk. Constructed from a durable nylon-blend stretch fabric, they offer a good balance of abrasion resistance and freedom of movement. The DWR finish handles light precipitation and damp rock faces well enough for most shoulder-season conditions, shedding water consistently in our tests. While not fully waterproof, they dry quickly, which is a key attribute for variable alpine environments.

From a performance standpoint, these pants shine in their intended use: scrambling, multi-pitch climbs, and demanding trail days. The articulated knees and gusseted crotch are standard but well-executed, preventing any binding during high steps or awkward movements. They sit comfortably under a harness, and the integrated belt is low-profile and effective.
