The construction pairs a robust G-1000 HeavyDuty Eco fabric on the lower sections, where they're most likely to encounter abrasion from rocks, ice, or brush, with a lighter G-1000 Lite Eco on the upper calf. This material strategy aims to keep the weight down and improve ventilation while maintaining critical protection. The combination effectively fends off snow, mud, and scree, and does a decent job against persistent rain and wet brush, though it's not a fully waterproof solution for prolonged submersion or heavy downpours.

The fit is designed to be snug but not restrictive, with a drawcord adjustment at the top and a durable elastic strap under the boot. The front opening is secured with Velcro and a metal hook, a tried-and-true setup that holds up well. While not the lightest gaiters on the market, the trade-off is a palpable sense of resilience.
