Biggie

Most outdoor blankets are glorified single-person throws, leaving camp partners fighting over corner coverage once the fire dies down. The Kelty Biggie addresses that problem head-on by scaling up to a massive footprint that genuinely covers two adults. It is tailored specifically for frontcountry base camps, van beds, rooftop tents, and truck tailgates where living space and comfort take priority over cutting ounces.

Construction centers around Kelty's proprietary Cloudloft synthetic fill encased in a soft, brushed polyester shell. The insulation traps heat effectively on brisk shoulder-season evenings down into the 50s and high 40s, providing a familiar comforter-style drape rather than the slick, slippery feel common to technical nylon camping quilts. Synthetic fill also means simple maintenance—it handles spilled coffee, dog paws, and campsite dust without fuss, laundering cleanly in standard home washing machines.

Bulk is the primary compromise here. At roughly three pounds and packing down to the size of a standard sleeping bag, this blanket has no business on a backpacking trail. However, compared to premium two-person alternatives from brands like Rumpl or Nemo that charge steep prices for technical shell fabrics, the Biggie focuses on accessible durability and sheer square footage, making it one of the most practical shared blankets for vehicle-supported outings.
