The back of the hand is a lighter, breathable stretch fabric, which helps with ventilation and prevents overheating on warmer days. There's no heavy insulation here; the primary role is abrasion resistance and preventing blisters, not warmth.

From a performance standpoint, the Comp gloves hit their mark for general paddling and occasional wet work. The grip is solid when wet, which is crucial for paddle control.
