The Morakniv Garberg Stainless is a reliable workhorse, not a show pony. Morakniv's first full-tang offering, it’s built for serious field use. The 4.3-inch blade is Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel, a good choice for corrosion resistance in wet environments – a real asset for those who don't want to obsess over blade maintenance. At 3.86mm thick, it’s substantially more robust than most other Moras, providing excellent rigidity for harder tasks like light prying or batoning. The Scandi grind is classic Mora: razor-sharp out of the box and very easy to resharpen in the field, though it's not the best for fine slicing tasks like food prep where a convex or flat grind might excel more.

Its full-tang construction sets it apart, extending through the polymer handle and secured by a robust pommel. This greatly increases durability and confidence when pushing the knife hard, a common concern with their more budget-friendly partial-tang models. The handle itself is comfortable and offers good grip even when wet or cold, thanks to the textured polymer. It's not a premium material, but it's practical and withstands abuse. The included polymer sheath holds the knife securely, allowing for various carry options depending on the model chosen – whether it’s the basic polymer, multi-mount, or leather option. We generally recommend the multi-mount for its versatility in attachment.

While the Garberg Stainless isn't the lightest knife for its size, its weight is a fair trade-off for the added strength and durability. It competes well against other full-tang bushcraft knives in its price range, often offering a more refined Scandi grind and better steel choices than some budget alternatives.
