Hook Up Magnetic Box Call

The Primos Hook Up Magnetic Box Call takes on the most irritating flaw of traditional box calls: the uncontrolled clatter that happens when walking through timber. By replacing the conventional fixed pivot screw and spring with a magnetic hinge, the call eliminates unwanted paddle bounce while naturally seating the lid at the correct striking angle. For hunters who do not want to fool with rubber bands or worry about misaligned screw tension in the field, this setup delivers immediate, repeatable operation straight out of a vest pocket.

Acoustically, the hardwood box produces crisp, raspy hen yelps, sharp cuts, and soft purrs with very little user effort. The magnet provides just enough uniform downward pressure to keep the paddle tracking evenly across the striking rails, which significantly lowers the learning curve for novice callers. Experienced hunters will appreciate how easily it strikes one-handed against a pant leg or forearm when pinned down by a wary longbeard.

Like any wooden friction call, moisture remains its primary enemy, requiring dry conditions and regular chalking to maintain its tone. The box footprint is typical for a mid-sized caller, meaning it still demands dedicated vest space compared to mouth diaphragms or compact pots. However, against standard screw-pivot boxes in the same price bracket, the Hook Up stands out for its rock-solid consistency, silent transport, and user-friendly strike dynamics.
