Reveal SK

The Tactacam Reveal SK expands on the success of the Reveal series by integrating a solar panel, offering a significant advantage in battery longevity. This camera is ideal for those who deploy cameras in hard-to-reach spots for extended periods, minimizing trips to swap batteries and ensuring continuous operation. In our field evaluation, the Reveal SK delivered reliable performance while significantly extending its operational life. The integrated solar panel worked effectively, constantly trickling charge back into the internal battery, and thereby extending the life of the 12 AA batteries. In sunny conditions, we saw the camera run almost indefinitely. The 16MP images were crisp and clear, and the 1080p video was sharp, consistent with the quality we expect from Tactacam. Trigger speed was fast, capturing game without issue, and the recovery time was excellent. Night vision performance was strong, with the no-glow IR LEDs providing effective illumination for clear nocturnal shots without scaring off wary animals. The familiar, easy-to-use Tactacam app made setup and management straightforward. Dual-carrier compatibility (Verizon & AT&T) remains a key strength for flexible connectivity. The primary trade-off is the larger size and slightly higher cost due to the integrated solar panel. While the solar panel extends battery life significantly, it does require some direct sunlight, so placement is critical. In heavily shaded areas, its advantage diminishes. However, for open country or locations with good sun exposure, the Reveal SK is a fantastic option for truly 'set it and forget it' long-term scouting.
