What the adventure weather report includes
- Historical weather for your exact dates: average highs and lows, record extremes, how often it rains, snows, freezes or blows, using 20 years of the Open-Meteo ERA5 archive.
- Live forecast: daily highs, lows, precipitation chance and wind once your trip is within about 16 days, with clearly labeled seasonal estimates out to 21 days.
- Destination considerations: freezing nights, heat, thunderstorms, wind for paddlers, snow, lake ice, cold water, altitude and short daylight.
- Gear recommendations: sleeping bags, layers, rain gear, boots, PFDs and more, matched to the conditions and linked to our Top 10 picks.
- Save, print, PDF and share: keep the report in your Basecamp, print it for the truck, download a PDF or send the link to your crew.
How to use it
- Search a park, lake, trailhead or town and pick it from the list.
- Choose your start and end dates (up to 30 days).
- Select Create report. Come back within two weeks of your trip for the live forecast.
Why history and forecast together
A forecast only reaches about two weeks. Most trips are planned months ahead, so the historical record tells you what to pack and what to expect, and the forecast confirms it as departure gets close. Use both, and always check official forecasts and local alerts before you head out.
