Camp tips

  • • Fresh seafood provides the most authentic flavor.
  • • Do not overcook the shellfish, as they can become tough.
  • • White wine enhances the depth of flavor but may be omitted if preferred.
  • • Serve with bread to soak up the flavorful broth.
  • • Add a squeeze of fresh lemon just before serving.
  • • Homemade fish stock gives the stew a richer taste.
  • • Keep perishables at 40°F (4°C) or below in a monitored cooler. Discard food left above that temperature for over 2 hours, or 1 hour above 90°F (32°C). Use potable water, wash hands, and pack out scraps. Never cook inside a tent. Check local fire restrictions.
