It's built with Therm-a-Rest's Triangular Core Matrix construction, which creates hundreds of internal cells to trap air and minimize heat loss, giving it a solid R-value for its weight. The materials feel thin but are surprisingly resilient for their weight class, using a 30D ripstop nylon top and 15D ripstop nylon bottom. We've taken these pads on everything from long-distance thru-hikes to fast-and-light alpine ascents, and they reliably deliver. Inflation is quick with the included pump sack, and deflation is equally fast. It’s not the most silent pad on the market, but the updated NXT version is noticeably quieter than its predecessor, a welcome improvement for light sleepers.
