What this episode covers
Ten new contestants, including women for the first time in the series, are dropped at isolated sites near Vancouver Islands Quatsino Sound. Each races to establish shelter and secure a water and food source before conditions worsen. Desmond White decides almost immediately that the danger of nearby bears is too much to bear, tapping out within hours.
