Cooler Meal recipes — FAQ
How long can a cooler keep food safe?
A high-quality cooler with block ice holds 40°F for 3-5 days if you keep the lid closed and drain water regularly. A mid-range cooler does 2 days; a soft-sided cooler about 24 hours.
What food goes in a camping cooler?
Anything you'd refrigerate at home: cheese, deli meats, eggs, milk, marinated proteins, fresh veg and drinks. Keep raw meat sealed at the bottom and away from ready-to-eat foods.
