How accurate are camp oven temperatures?
Camp and RV ovens run 20-40°F off their dial reading. Always cook with an oven thermometer inside and start checking food 5 minutes before the recipe says done.
Can I bake bread in a camp oven?
Yes — quick breads, biscuits and no-knead loaves do great. Full-rise sandwich bread is harder because most camp ovens can't hold a steady 375°F for the full bake. Try a Dutch oven over coals instead.
