Easy Camping Sausage and Potato Foil Packets
Prep: 15 min
Cook: 40 min
Serves: 4
Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

  • •1 14-ounce pkg. Smoked Sausage
  • •1.5 lb. Yukon Gold Potatoes
  • •1/4 sliced Large Red Onion
  • •2 teaspoons Salt
  • •1 teaspoon Pepper
  • •1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • •4 Tablespoons Butter
  • •chopped Italian Parsley

Equipment

  • • Aluminum foil
  • • Baking sheet
  • • Knife
  • • Cutting board

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Layout 4 sheets of aluminum foil.
  2. 2Slice sausage lengthwise. Cut potatoes into bite-size pieces. If using petite Yukon gold potatoes, halve or quarter them. Slice onion. Sprinkle potatoes with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. 3Divide sausage, potatoes, and onions onto the sheets of foil. Place 1 Tablespoon of butter atop each foil packet. Tightly wrap the foil to completely seal.
  4. 4Place packets on a baking sheet and bake for 34-40 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Optionally, for a char on the sausage, open the foil and broil for 2-3 minutes.
  5. 5Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Camp tips

  • • Use high-quality sausage for the best flavor.
  • • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for variety.
  • • These packets can also be cooked on the grill.
