  • •2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • •1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • •salt
  • •pepper
  • •1/4 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
  • •1 thinly sliced green onion
  • •1/2 teaspoon fresh rosemary

Instructions

  2. 2In a bowl, combine eggs, milk, flour, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper; set aside.
  3. 3Fry bacon in the Dutch oven until crisp; remove and drain on paper towels, leaving the grease in the oven.
  4. 4Pour the egg mixture over the bacon grease in the pre-heated oven without stirring.
  5. 5Cover and bake at 425°F for about 15 minutes until puffy and cooked through.
  6. 6Top with crumbled bacon, cheese, green onion, and rosemary, cover, and continue cooking until cheese melts, about 3 minutes.
  7. 7Remove from heat, slice, and serve hot.

Camp tips

  • • Leave the bacon grease in the Dutch oven for added flavor and crispness.
  • • Cooking on a level surface ensures that the batter spreads evenly during baking.
  • • Rotate the oven and lid in opposite directions throughout the cooking for even baking.
